More silverware for Enigma at the Rock

Enigma Motorsport were back on the podium this weekend at Rockingham Speedway in Northamptonshire. Young Finn, Antti Buri drove brilliantly to claim two 2nd place finishes from the weekends two races.

The meeting began well with Antti setting the fastest time in the final practice session on Friday and followed that up with a 3rd place grid slot for the first race of the weekend on Saturday afternoon. However, race 1 didn't go to plan to begin with as Antti made a bad start and was as low as 6th by the first corner, but with some great racecraft recovered to regain 3rd by the end of the first lap. On the 2nd lap the 21-year old took 2nd with a daring pass on championship-leader, Scott Malvern into Rockingham's notorious banked turn 1. He then held off Malvern to finish just 3.7s behind winner Tio Ellinas.

Sunday's race begain with Antti again starting from 3rd but a better start meant he mixed it with the series' front-runners for all of the race, and on lap 10 made it past multi-race winner Scott Pye to climb the podium again for another 2nd place finish.

Antti Buri is now back up to 3rd in the British Formula Ford championship as the series takes a month's summer break before returning to the British Grand Prix venue of Silverstone in mid-August. As well as the British championship Enigma and Antti are also leading the Finnish Formula Ford Championship in a dual bid on both championships.

Solid points finishes at Castle Combe

After Antti Buri's two dominant victories in the Finnish Formula Ford championship the previous weekend it was back to business in the British Formula Ford championship at Castle Combe in Wiltshire.

Antti was on course for a strong qualifying when on his flying lap was slowed by the Juno of Chrissy Palmer after he suffered a puncture. The resulting clash of the two cars maent a less than perfect car to set a competitive lap time. Ninth place on the grid for race 1 was a creditable effort given the circumstances.

Race 1 went more to plan with Antti setting the fastest lap for most of the race, climbing through the field to a very good finish of 4th place. In race 2 Buri started in 12th place due to the problems in qualifying. However, the race was red-flagged and held for several minutes because of a nasty crash involving Chrissy Palmer, meaning the race became a five minute dash to the flag. Antti made some progress crossing the line in 9th place. He is now still 4th in the championship just 2 points behind 3rd place Daniel Cammish.

Antti and the team now have a few weeks well-earned break before heading to Rockingham in Northamptonshire for the next round of the British Formula Ford championship.

Mixed weekend as Antti rises to the international stage

Zandvoort in the Netherlands played hosted to round 3 of the British Formula Ford championship supporting the prestigious Masters of Formula 3 event. The weekends two races were held in vastly different conditions providing a big challenge to Enigma Motorsports driver, Antti Buri.

In a huge field that combined many Formula Ford drivers from across Europe counting towards a European Formula Ford cup, the racing was frantic. In practice Antti was quickest of all the field by some margin and hopes were high going into Friday's qualifying session. However, hopes of pole position were thwarted by a fuel pressure problem with the teams Mygale leaving Antti to start 12th overall and putting him on the back foot for the two races.

In scorching temperatures at the Dutch seaside circuit, Buri climbed to 7th overall and 6th in the British class setting the fastest lap of the race. Race 2 was a different affair, the hot and humid conditions of Saturday gave way to cool and wet weather for Sunday's final race. A torrential downpour just as the cars were preparing to hit the track meant a quick change to a wet set-up. After starting 10th, Antti climbed to 6th in the British class. Unfortunately Antti has now slipped from 3rd to 4th in the championship but is only 5 points behind 3rd placed Scott Pye, who has won 4 races this season already.

Antti Buri is sure to be fired up for the next round of the British Formula Ford championship at Castle Combe in Wiltshire. Beforehand the team returns to Finland for round 2 of the Finnish Formula Ford Championship at the Alastaro circuit.

Strong results again for Antti and Enigma in Scotland

Enigma Motorsport and the team's lead driver Antti Buri had an eventful weekend in Scotland at Knockhill which hosted rounds 4,5 & 6 of the British Formula Ford championship.

After the podium finishes of Oulton Park, Antti and the team were slightly disappointed with 7th position in qualifying. However a hard fought drive from Antti in race 1 of the weekend later on Saturday lead to a 4th place finish. Race 2 on Sunday morning ended unfortunately in the barriers at Carlube corner after a spectacular crash involving Antti and the Spectrum of Daniel Cammish with the latter rolling his Kevin Mills Racing-prepared machine. Antti was flying high at the time and in contention for a win chasing down Josh Hill. The initial impact of the cars lead to part of the front bodywork completely blocking Antti's vision as he hit the barriers.

At first it seemed that the crash had caused a lot of damage but when the car was returned to the team it was clear after a few minor repairs Antti could race in the final race of the day later on.

Race 3 was a typically tight Formula Ford race with Antti crossing the line in 5th place after holding off Daniel Cammish. Antti is still in 3rd place in the championship as the series now takes in 2 races at the Zandvoort circuit in the Netherlands supporting the prestigious Formula 3 Masters event. Antti and the team will be keen to make an impression in front of the big crowd that is always present. In the meantime the team will be taking on the Finnish Formula Ford championship next weekend at round 1 at the Kemora circuit.

Antti and Enigma start the season in style.

Antti Buri and Enigma Motorsport claimed their first podium finishes in British Formula Ford at the season opening meeting at Oulton Park over the Easter weekend.

After qualifying well in 6th position the team were looking to push on in race 1 but were left feeling slightly disappointed as a gearbox problem meant Antti finished in 11th place. In race 2 on Monday Antti more than made up for Saturday's problems. Making a great start he enjoyed a race long battle with Scott Malvern and Daniel Cammish and claimed a well deserved 2nd place finish just 0.08s behind eventually winner Malvern. In race 3 again Antti made a good start and raced hard with the 3 Fluid Motorsport cars. Keeping them at bay he climbed the podium again with a 3rd place finish. Antti is now 3rd in the championship standings as the series moves North to Knockhill, Scotland for rounds 4,5 & 6 on 8/9 May.

Enigma and Antti won't be resting on their laurels though, as they will be out testing the car to build on the great start to 2010.
